Could not agree more with whats already been written about this place. It is one of the best if not the best hostel I have ever stayed in.Ribe itself is a fantastic little town with a unique charm of its own.Well worth a visit if one ever visits Denmark.

Ribe is one of the most fantastic towns I have ever visited, and this hostel enhances the experience. It really is wonderful. The location is fantastic, the view of the harbour from the rooms facing the river magical, the facilities top-notch and the staff friendly and helpful. There is really nothing negative to be said for the place, so have a look before everyone else hears about it.

This was the first HI hostel that I had stayed in, and I was sure impressed. The staff was extremely friendly, the place was spotless, and it is in a excellent location (maximum 5 minutes to the town centre). Ribe is off the beaten track in Denmark, so you won't see as many backpackers here. On the contrary, you will probably encounter tour groups, so it would be advisable to book ahead, even in the off season. (I was there in early May and the hostel was completely booked)It isn't advertised either, but when the hostel is full, they have what they call the "Badminton Room" which is off the gymnasium that is attached to this hostel. The room has 10-beds and cost either 90 or 95 kr/night for HI-members (I can't remember which price it is). However, unlike the other rooms that include ensuite bathroom facilities, you will have to use the gym facilities instead which are kept very clean. Overall, this was probably one of the nicest hostels that I stayed in while travelling through northern Europe for two months.
