This hostel boasts an excellent location in a 16th century inn on the Market Place in Glastonbury town centre. The hostel is a bit rough around the edges but it has the basic amenities such as a smoky TV lounge and a small kitchen. There is a café and bar downstairs.

I have stayed at this hostel twice and the staff are friendly (depending who's on). Amission to the rooms is 4.30, but you can leave your bag with the staff until entry time. The Crown next door is owned by the backpackers althrough the drinks are expensive, there's also a menu for food. The womens doem is known as the'Orange room' while the mens is known as the 'yellow room'. Bedding is supplied and there's a shower and toilet, althrough it is a bit cramped in there. The shower can get a bit confusing to work, and would be better if there was a diagram showing you in which direction to turn the taps. The spray is strong and you will have to wait a while for it to warm up.

When I last stayed there the roof was leaking, and a bucket was on the draws catching the water of which the blasted drumming kept me awake. The beds are very comfortable, four bunks to a room with creaky floor (due to the age of the building). There's three floors, the upper being for the staff, you'll also find seperate more wider showers down the corridoor. The doors don't lock, so any Tom Dick and Harry can walk in and watch you showering if you don't pull the curtain along!

The hostel itself, is not to out of the shop. The people that run it make this place. It has a great little pub attached, and the owner is extremely friendly and loves a chat. It is right in the middle of the town.

I really enjoyed the place. Well recommend it, except if you after peace and quiet.
