BUG review
This small 18-bed hostel near Falmouth Town Station is like a home. It has a nice lounge area and a small kitchen with an Aga. Accommodation is in small rooms (the largest has four beds) and some rooms have sea views. The manager is very helpful and enthusiastic about Falmouth.

We stayed at Falmouth Lodge for a long birthday weekend. We couldn't have asked for more. Judy the new owner was a fabulous hostess. The location is great for easy access to the beach and the main town and all local attractions.

I would highly recommend staying here.

Myself and a group of friends have just come back from a lovely weekend spent in Falmouth. The hostel was recommended to us by a friend and it didn't disappoint. The manager is a lovely, approachable woman who is happy to advise and help and the hostel itself is cozy and clean. Ignore the negative reviews below about the owner, its under relatively new ownership (since Autumn 2009 I think)

Check it out, it won't disappoint.

I intended to stay for a couple of nights but ended up staying three weeks. It is in an ideal location as it is so close to town and so close to the beach and yet in a quiet street with little disturbance. I enjoyed sitting out the front in the sun for morning cup of tea and also evening drinks. The kitchen is perfect and is so cosy, people just seemed to hang out and chat and swap stories and information, there was a really nice atmosphere. Beds and rooms were comfortable, bathroom was spotlessly clean. While I was there I noticed how the place seemed to attract interesting and friendly people. Thumbs up to the management style which is relaxed and efficient.

The FLB is a really nice place to stay. It is 3 min to walk to the seaside and 15 min to the centre of Falmouth. It is located in a quite area of the city. The house has different accomadations, a charming kitchen with an aga, living-room with TV, DVD and internet access. The host Judy is very charming and caring and really wants her guests to feel comfortable. So: Forget about the review of "Fozzrock" from March 2009: The management has changed in summer 2009!

On arrival at Falmouth Lodge I experienced a warm welcome and the owner was more than happy to offer advice on the surrounding areas and interesting places to visit. I enjoyed every moment of my time there and would recommend Falmouth Lodge to anyone.

The new owner is very friendly and went out of her way to be helpful including ringing up location to check on their opening hours. Plenty of interesting people to talk to particularly in the kitchen self catering. Bed was very comfortable we had ensuite adjacent to the kitchen. We had quiet end of house with heavy duty fire doors to give us that extra privacy. Great location and central for everything and yes we would stay there again. Few minutes walk to town with good range of cafes and restaurants and pubs.

We found the lodge to be clean, warm and friendly the best hostel we stayed in by a mile in comparision to several hostels we have stayed in whilst we have been travelling all around Scotland and Ireland as well as Cornwall. The new owner and her family are very friendly and accomodating. Good facilities, free wifi, close to beach, ample kitchen, warm showers, owner was more than happy to help with any queries you had about travelling around the town or local facilities, pubs, restaurants, surrounding towns, etc we would defintely recommend to stay here if you are travelling to Falmouth!

Me and my girlfriend were stunned on the first night after paying this woman £150 for three nights stay when she made me change a lightbulb in the lounge, and when i went to the shops she thrusted £2.00 in my hand and asked me to buy her some special choclate she likes. Being a nice fellow I accepted but was amazed that I was paying this woman money to basically be her friend for our stay. The en-suite had a shower that doesn;t work properly and the double bed was a large single, very difficult to fall asleep in too. The website ( last updated 2003 javascript:emoticon('') ) states wi-fi access- there isn;t, it's a cable you have to use in the lounge whilst sitting next to her waffle on about how she's been to 170 countries. I am not allergic to dogs but was surprised she didn;t mention that a dog will invade your stay whilst talking to her over the phone , or on her website. I was amazed how this hostel is essentially you, the guest, invading her home, her spajavascript:emoticon('')ce and her dog. believe me, you won;t feel cosy in her house. THIS NEXT BIT IS INTENSE: She woke us up on our first morning and accused us of spilling wine on the wall in the next room to ours, the very same room we both saw her drinking wine the night before! When we'de had enough we requested our credit card details back ( which you have to provide when booking) and she stated she didn't have a clue where they could be, or if she even has them! THIS PLACE IS SO UNPROFESSIONAL IS A LAST RESORT. Do not stay here, we found javascript:emoticon('')a lovely hotel for £5.00 more a night just on the other street which had a sea view and included breakfast, a DOUBLE bed, proper en-suite with working shower and oh, did I mention, you won't be treated like soem crazy woman's deliquent child in it?! Put me off hostels forever. Don't let her ruin your stay in the beautiful town of Falmouth.
