If your a walker, and like being able to walk straight onto the slopes of the Helvellyn range, this is for you.Near the top of the old mine track (tarmac, but rough) this is a converted mine working accomodation.Quiet, with a beck running almost past the windoes, it's small but extremely friendly.Pub about 15 mins walk down hill. Patterdale is another 15 mins walk beyond with largish grocery, walking shops and cafe/restaurant. Ullswater across the road.I keep coming back to this place, it's heaven - treat it well
