Relaxed Demi-Country, Semi-City, August 13, 2006
Reviewer: MikeyJ from Lincoln, England

Pros: Has a relaxed country hostel atmosphere, but near Brighton!
Cons: The curfew does put some people off who are wanting to party

Being a part of the HI network you of course expect certain things from the hostel. Self catering facilities were pretty good and clean, breakfast was done buffet style (so no-one left hungry), bedrooms were fairly spacious, and with a pun just a cross the road I was a very happy chappy. The curfew in place does put this hostel in a slightly shady light as it is the "Brigthon Hostel", in the party city (south coast) but it is very much a traditional hostel with a very relaxed atmosphere and places to hide if you need to be quiet... The woods and playing field just by the hostel serve as a wonderful place to hide and read a book. Basically: Traditional, pleasant, really nice staff... I had a lovely time...
