The hostel is siutated a couple of miles walk from the Loughton underground station (Central line). Before going it is worth seeking a detailed street map of the area to make the journey easier.What you find there is a simple hostel in a relatively leafy environment. There are many good walks around Epping Forest.Volunteers keep the place going and the current warden, Martin Webster, is a veteran with the yha and has a knack of striking a rapport with the hostellers.The hostel is a tonic after a busy day in London. See the yha England website for details of open dates.Camping is allowed at half of the regular adult price per night. There is limited space so best book ahead.
