The YHA classify this ( in 2006) as a 1 star hostel - as such it exceeded my expectations. It was clean, comfortable and had reasonable common areas. Ok the plumbing looked or rather sounded a bit old and I would have prefered more pressure in the shower. Breakfast was in the inclusive price and was freshly cooked. The members kitchen was well equipped but tight on space being very narrow. I will probably visit again.

The Dover Youth Hostel offers really nice and clean rooms. The tv room, the kitchen and the backyard are also really good. The only negative things I can think of is the showers and the toilets. Not that they're dirty or something, the just could be a bit more comfortable. Another thing that is annoying is the fact that you have to be home by 11 pm, otherwise there's no possibility to get back into the hostel.

This is one of the better hostels in England. Location is fine, good facilities, friendly staff. Showers were a bit annoying - nowhere to keep your clothes dry, but othherwise fine. I would recommend this hostel.

I stayed here in May of 2002 and it was the first really nice hostel I found after a week and a half of traveling. The staff was friendly and there was a game room with a pool table and over-priced internet access (but all YHA hostels overcharge for the internet).

The rooms were very nice and comfortable with lockers (although not enough for every person in the room). It's located an easy walk from the train station and only about 5 minutes from the beach.

The only problem I had was with the showers. There was enough room in them but there was only a curtain to close from the rest of the room and the one I got was right next to the door so whenever someone went in or out the air from outside would blow the curtain and everyone could get a real nice peek at your ass.

But, anyway, a very good hostel at a great price.

This was a terrific hostel. Definately one of the best places I stayed in my three month backpacking trip. The staff are very friendly and accomadating. The rooms are clean and bright with plenty of space. The self-catering kitchen is well stocked and relatively clean. Prepared meals are available at fairly good prices (for England at least). There is a lovely backyard to enjoy. Information about local hikes and bird watching is available. Do the cliff walk - it's beautiful.
