I absolutely love this place! We have an annual trip there and it gets better every year!, April 25, 2007

Pros: Very remote. You will not see a sole other than your camping buddies during your stay.
Cons: Carrying the beer to the venue over the rope bridge, but it's all part of the fun!

This is the best place for a remote weekend to get away from it all. The barn itself is a long way from the farm (a couple of miles I think) but the farmer will take your stuff down as far as the rope bridge in a trailer for a small fee.

There is no electric but small gas lamps so take plenty of torches and candles. People leave tins and non perishables in a chest in the kitchen so if you forget anything you might just get lucky....

The bunks have curtains so you get some privacy and are huge with pull out beds to accomodate more people on the floor.

There is a gas cooker and an aga, though we've never quite mastered the aga.... No fridge or shower but who needs them when you only staying a weekend?!

The toilet is an adventure in itself, again remember your torch.

I can't recommend this this place enough. Is incredibly cheap and great fun with a group of friends. There are lovely walks in the area, with nice pubs in wray and hornby. Try the fenwick arms for roast beef with the best yorkshires and real gravy (as seen on Gordon Ramesey's Kitchen Nightmares).
