Najeeb and staff members are helpful, cheerful and willing to help no matter what hour of the night. There are always wonderful people staying in the hostel, and should there not be then I personally have seen then ask the nasty person to leave (because it is an upstanding place and they do not want riff raff) My wife and I personally stayed there for 5 months, and I would reccommend it to anyone. They have got Sky TV (which you are more than welcome to change the channel should you wish). They have a washing machine and tumble drier which fits tons of washing. The hostel is spotless, there is a cleaner daily who SCRUBS every inch on the hostel. (Unfortunately early 20s have little respect and dirty this fast, but then again if you wanted a hotel you would spend more). I love this hostel, and think negative reviews are a lie.

I need to public a complaint about Palace Hotel, London, England 48-49 Princes Square, Bayswater, W2 4PX in order to warn other users of your web service.

I was settled in february for two days in this hostel, after having booked the rooms by web service. Appart from the cleanliness and the hostel neglectfulness, the main problem was that they refused to pay my deposit back.

The place had a 24hours reception but the person in the reception at check out time, pretended not to speak english or not to be allowed to refund the deposit, and I guarantee that we did not cause any harm. It was quite

suspicious as the day before (while we were paying the rooms) all the receptionists spoke a fluent and clearful english.

I'm sure that you are aware of my discontent as I find unaceptable this behaviour, and I hardly want to prevent other trusting travellers.

Smaller sized independant backpackers/travellers hostel with a lively atmosphere that generally seems to larger than the slightly run-down building (but there does seem to be improvements happening in this regard!). The dorm rooms are kept to a maximum of 6 and they have a range of smaller rooms. Good place to base yourself as they are in a good position to get the to places that you would need to in London. Seems to be a good mix of people (diehard backpackers to some "regular" 9-5 types). I stayed there for around 6 months and only had minor issues from time to time but found the staff quite approachable (and socialible). Definately recommended if you don't feel that some of the larger london hostels is really what you are looking for. (But there is no Bar service, but plenty of pubs in the area which are quite popular, and you are free to drink as much as you want in the hostel). I had a fun time during my stay, and if I end back up in London (dunno why I would want to ;-) I will probably end up staying there again.
