I stayed at this hostel in a 4 bed female only dorm for about a week in late 2004. At the time I stayed I picked Pickwick Hall for its location and price and I would definitely stay there again.

The absolute best thing about this hostel is the location. It is within walking distance of HEAPS of attractions in London. This saves you money - I never needed a tube ticket the whole time I stayed. It is also very close to supermarkets and the like for self catering.

The facilities (shared bathroom, kitchen) were a bit dated and weren't kept particularly clean. This didn't bother me too much but I know some people expect more.

At the time I stayed there were a group of students staying long term who seemed to dominate the common lounge area and internet facilities, so if you wanted somewhere quiet to chill out there wasn't really anywhere to do that.

My room had 4 single beds, which is a bit unusual for hostels which usually have bunks, not that I'm complaining! The room was quite spacious and had a big opening window with a view over a garden, which was a nice view. The hostel was very quiet - I had absolutely no problems with noise at all. Great place to stay if you're looking for an alternative to party hostels. Party animals, definitely not for you.
