My girlfriend and I stayed in better hostels in eastern Europe! When we arrived they told us they don't have the room we booked (99.50 pounds per person per week), but they can upgrade us to another room (which is, of course, more expensive 107 pounds). We were too tired to argue, so we accepted. We spent the next three weeks asking to move to another room. We met other people at the hostel who told us the same story. After three weeks we told the manager we didn't want to pay the more expensive room anymore. In the meantime the prices rose. The cheap room was now 101 pounds. There are no lockers in the room. Everything you own can be taken away by anyone who enters the room. Cleaning was ok at the beginning then the staff changed and so did our trust in their ability to clean. Mattresses were really worn out and very uncomfortable. Sometimes the shower didn't work. The kitchen staff often ran out of bread, milk, eggs, anything. Even when they're not out of anything the food is far from beeing delicious (but at least the chef is a nice guy). There was a time when there was no toilet paper for at least 3 days! Staff were friendly except for the ones at the reception (in my oppinion the most important ones) When we tried to check out they didn't have any money to pay back the deposit we payed. Our advise: DO NOT go there if you have the chance to go somewhere else.
