Vuorilinna are apartments rented out to Finnish students during the college term and converted to a hostel during the summer. I lived here as an Erasmus student for three months and loved it, the apartment is in an excellent location near to the main attraction of the castle and the various shops as well as being surrounded by lakes. During the winter I paid a rent of approx. 8euro a night..it gets a lot more expensive when it becomes a hostel!Perhaps for those travelling for a long time in Finland during the winter it would be a good option to check renting one of these out... even at higher prices in the summer I (having stayed in many other hostels) think Vourilinna is a great prospect... each apartment has its own bathroom and kitchen.
