I stayed here for one night February 2003. It was almost empty .. The room was very clean as were the showers and toilets (and there are alot of them always a good thing). There is a locker room with BIG lockers..we stored suitcases in them... it was also possible to get breakfast.. I had a problem using the phone one night and the girl on reception could not have done anymore to help.. when we both finally realised we were getting nowhere she walked me to the nearest payphone..! In addition if you are clever and bring your own linen (and cleverer still to have a HI card) it is very reasonable (especially in winter when I travelled) and cheaper than elsewhere in Finland. It is in a good location too... looking onto the river which in winter you can walk or skate down and a 15 minute walk to the museums and main attraction of Turku castle, the shops etc are in the opposite direct of about 5-10 minutes. It also couldn't be safer .. it's beside a police station!

The only thing I would fault is the reception hours are awkward meaning you can only check-in at certain times, although it is possible to store your bags and go elsewhere while waiting for reception to open.
