Stayed there 4 days in July, but could have stayed for 2 weeks: there are lots of things to do and see in and around Quimper, and an extensive local coach service (2 euros the ride) allows you to explore the region. Especially convenient for walkers who want to do the coastpath with only a short backpack, coming back to the same hostel every night. See http://infotransports.cg29.fr/ Staff very friendly, coach schedules available outside the reception. Showers + toilets a little rundown and dorms quite large (12 beds I think) but still quite roomy. Guests' kitchen OK. Laundromat about 10' walk from the hostel. Some of the guests were complaining that there was nothing to do (no beach! of course, this is Breton Cornwall!!! ) but at the same time were protracting their stay instead of pulling out to Spain, Morocco or such places.
25' on foot from railway station but it goes up a little. Bus ride costs only 1 euro, but you have to change line. See www.qub.fr
