I cant really follow how the hostel should earn a single star but as I must...!

Hostel was overbooked so they parked us in a "camping site", that is the back yard on a rocky patch, for the price of a room inside! 17(!) Euro for a place to peg a tent is in no way acceptable in a city where you can get a nice hotel room downtown, and you cannot vote for not taking the 8 Euro dinner (okay, included in the price), for which they seemed to have bought the meat at the shoemaker!

my advice: look along the canal for a nice hotel and eat out, only a few euro more and more fun.

It's quite a hard job to walk up to this hostel, but once you made it, you have a terrific view over the city with its canals and the sea. From the hostel you can walk to even nicer lookout places where you can see as far as the pyrennees.

The hostel mostly consists of small units, which contain 4 beds, extra cupboards, shower and toilet. Although everything is a little old fashioned, it's functioning and is actually quite ok. The all you can eat breakfast consists mostly of the usual baguette and jam, but that's usual in France. The meals that are offered in the evening are not really worth their 7 Euro, it's probably better, to look for a not too expensive pizza place or the like in the town. Unfortunately there is not cooking facility.

The people are quite friendly and do their best to make your stay comfortable. Long long beaches to go to in the summer are easy to reach by bus.
