This hostel caters almost exclusively to groups; individual travellers are the exception. In the small but scenic town of Melun, a half hour train ride from Paris, the only real way to get there is by RER and then taking a tram, which runs infrequent service to this very secluded area far from the centre of the town. Since groups are the norm, it has only a self-service restaurant and no kitchen. Half the dorms are newly renovated, the other half need to be. If you find yourself in the area, it is comfortable and safe accomodation, but there will probably not be another backpacker in sight.
