BUG Review
It seems to be a hit or miss with this hostel. When you reserve a bed, they assign you to an apartment in the Montmartre area of Paris. As there are a few different apartments with varying degrees of quality, it is the luck of the draw here. Some are clean, bright flats with shining bathrooms, excellent kitchens, internet access, and new beds. Others are run down flats with bad plumbing and ugly furniture. Even though it is a furnished apartment, you must bring your own sheets and towels. If you are placed in a nice apartment, it can be a priceless opportunity for an authentic Parisian experience. The staff are very enthusiastic and friendly, and have been known to go out of their way to show you around personally.

I really did not know what to expect, since I booked the cheapest place available online. The hostels in Paris all seem to have a pretty terrible reputation or a really unconvenient location and both have almost no hot water, according to the reviews I have read...In the end I found myself in a cozy little apartment, where I was lodged with only 5 other people of my age, from all over. And get this: -kitchen always available (and full of still excellent leftovers from previous guests: I did not spend one euro on food!)
-by the Moulin Rouge: with the suggestions from the owner, we even got to talk to the dancers at the end of the night!
-not only TV and stereo, but also a big fan/ Paris is freaking hot!
-no lockout or curfew
-FREE INTERNET!And it is a true deal: only 2 euros over the average hostel price! If you are a youglin, take advantage of the deal while you can: the age limit is 28!

After reading some of the reviews here I thought this sounded like a pretty cool place to stay so I booked for three nights! We had no trouble meeting up with the guy that picked us up ... but when we arrived in the "apartment" it was 2 bunkbeds that were 3 high and the place was absolutely disgustingly dirty! The guys that were there already smelt terrible and had made an awful mess and then we find out that there is no running water and the guys had used the bathroom anyway! It was the most disgusting place I have ever been in all my life! Also they had no smoke alarms and the other people were smoking in bed! We spent one night because we had no other option and then moved to another hostel the next day! Do yourself a favour and don't book here ... it will ruin your trip to Paris!

This hostel is really cool!! You get to share a Parisien style apartment with upto 5 other people; there is a fully equipped kitchen, a TV, CD player and most importantly no curfew! I stayed here for 2 nights and after a month of sleeping in different hostels across the continent this was a welcome change. It is true that you cannot check into the apartments until 12pm, yet they make this aware to you when you phone them and in fact most other hostels do not have your room ready until 2 or 3pm, so this is not that bad really. Plus once you have checked in there is no lock out during the day as is the norm in most other hostels, so you can return at any time, to get some food or recover from a hangover! The atmosphere is far more realxed than in most hostels aswell, there is no grumpy owner or receptionist telling you not to bring alcohol into the hostel or to be quiet after 10pm etc. It's set a good area of Paris too, just 2 mins from the underground and 5 mins from Sacre Ceour. It's really worth a visit.

People, please do not stay here. I just left the place this morning and moved to another hostel today. It is not a hostel, it is 2 or 3 apartments this girl owns and rents out the beds. There is also no apartment in the Latin Quarter- hence no reviews for that location, so it is a lie because the owner sold it. Yes they do come and pick you up, but I waited for over an hour and a half for them to get me. Wasted half a day of sight seeing because the meeting time was midday. When I arrived, the people staying there immediately told me that there was a mouse. At first I didn't believe them but the next morning I saw it run under the fridge!!! We also told the owner, but she never came back to do anything about it, not even to set traps! Also, it is never cleaned. A guy comes maybe once a week and there is stale food and dirty dishes everywhere. Food from probably 3 weeks before I got there. Also, there are not linens, and they don't provide any. OH, and the toilet was broken and there is no shower curtain. The location is terrible, extremely far from all the sights and there is absolutely no nightlife nearby. The metros close at 12:30am so basically you cant go out. Also, the only people you meet are the people staying in the apartment, so you are pretty much stuck with them, so pray for good company. Single travellers, this is not a place to meet people! Also, there are only a four beds, but apparently 2 nights before I got there, 7 people stayed in the apartment, with 3 girls sleeping in one bed at the top, (in order to avoid the mouse). This place deserves 0 stars it was so bad. If you stay here it will ruin your stay in Paris, I swear.

I have to say that my stay at Lucky Youth was fantastic! We had our own parisien style apartment without any curfues or restrictions. The apartment was always clean and we had access to music, television and our own TV. The atmosphere was always fun and I made some very dear friends during my stay with Lucky Youth. The owner of Lucky Youth was always very concerned with improving her company as well as a great person with whom I shared many laughs! Lucky Youth was a breath of fresh air for me and the most fantastic hostel experience I have had in Europe. I recommend it to everyone as I felt as though I was really living in Paris, rather than just a temporary visitor passing through.

The Lucky Youth Hostel I stayed in Paris was honestly my best hostel experience so far (and I have been travelling through Europe for the past 6 months). The hostel felt like a private apartment with its own kitchen, stereo, tv, lots of space and no lock-out periods. The organiser of Lucky Youth Paris -Elouise, was always a bundle of joy! She was extremely helpful and genuinely concerned about making our stay as comfortable and fun as possible. We were even asked for feedback on how she could improve the hostel experience! Best of all, the happy atmosphere of the hostel allowed us to make great friendships with other young travellers like ourselves! I highly recommend this hostel to any young traveller looking for a fabulous time! Happy Travelling!
