I don't think a lot of people go to Balingen, cause it's out of the way--I visited there, because my father was born there. But WHAT a nice hostel! It's part of the small castle in the town--the hostel is what used to be the servant's quarters. So it's in an old half-timbered building, with modern renovations in the inside. But you can still see the timbers inside your room! Spotlessly clean, friendly staff, really good breakfast, a nice outdoor courtyard with picnic tables and flowers--worth the stay!
