This hotel has NO atmosphere at all -- it's more like a huge bunk than a hostel. Dingy, dusty rooms on endless hallways, with TINY bathrooms and push button showers. Also, we stayed in MUCH cheaper hostels on our trip that were quite a bit nicer. However, this hostel is completely decent (no major problems). Good security getting in, good free breakfast in the morning, decent location. I'm not sure if there are better options in Munich -- which by the way is a fun city to visit!

We started our 10 day trip here in Munich. We had a private, 2 person, room. The room was nice with a lovely beds and a heater. The bathroom was down the hall, 3 showers .. seperate sex bathrooms. The shower is one of those push buttoms that keep going off in the middle. I had the coldest shower one night there and a lovely warm shower the next night. Just the luck of the draw on what temp. you'll get. Breakfast wasn't too bad either, the hot choc. is the best! Not too far from the center of town. Just a little bus ride, and you can buy discounted tickets at the front desk. Compared to other places I have stayed this was the Ritz!

this place felt more like a prison than anything else....common room sucked and it had no atmosphere....ya great a swimming pool....one thats never open and has funny times when it is.....the area is real quiet but also way out of the city........the staff wasnt very nice to me or any other person that came in while i was there.....prices are expensive for what you get.....the multi rooms are the same size as doubles only more people and beds....i.e. undersized...besides that the doubles were two beds not one had to push beds together to sleep next to the girlfriend and I had to sleep in the gap .......the showers were annoying button pushers and was the dirtiest shower in the two months that i traveled this time....the locks on the doors are impossible to open.....literally....took about 5 minutes each time to unlock the door (were those keys invented by the criminally insane?) would be ok for a school group but not really upto my standards p.s. the b-fast really wasnt as good as some have mentioned

We stayed in a private here. The bathrooms were in the rooms and everything was very clean. It was almost like staying in a hotel. The beds were comfy and the pillows were huge. The bathroom was in our room and was very clean. The closets have locks on them so we felt very secure. The front desk was helpful with planning our train connections etc. It is a little out of the way but worth it to stay in a nice place that is affordable. Breakfast was incredible! We were so excited to have variety and it was good too! Stay here if you can.

Haus International is near the old Olympic section of Munich, but apart from this has nothing attractive about its location. It is a fair hike from the U-Bahn stop with luggage, and there is nothing much of interest in the area. The swimming pool and bar were closed when I was there. The rooms are fine, but the strange locks on the doors are irritating. The bathrooms were dirty, and the shower only ran for 5 seconds before having to press the button again. The building is really quite large and institutional, though its large number of rooms might come in handy if you are in a pinch for somewhere to stay. Otherwise, I would recommend Hotel Helvetia, which is near the train station and about the same price as this hostel.

Rooms are fine, lockable wardrobes, towels, basin etc. Good buffet breakfast included in price. Downsides, shared showers are dingy in the morning, and they try to charge you the full price even when you pay 10% via online booking.
