One of the worsed places i've ever been....

Dirty, Loud, Chaotic!

And when the manager arrives, everythng gets more chaotic! "Everybody out here, i want to eat my breakfast, and i want absolute quiet!"

The staff did its best, but most of them are annoyed, because they never get payed, and it CAN happen (like it did in my time here) that they get kicked out, with no reason.

So if you want to stay in a calmed atmosphere, dont book this hostel, pay a little more and GET a lot more...

Even the staff told me that that "Fabian Sörensen" (on whose review i booked) is nobody else than the manager itself....

I stayed at this hostel for 4 days at the end of June, 2003. The hostel is small only holding about 20 people. This means that you will meet other friendly people. Evenings were spent talking, playing music, and drinking in the common areas. I felt like I was with a family.

The thick spring mattress (not a mat) on the floor was really quiet and comfortable. After sleeping in other hostels with squeeky beds, I feel this should be noted. Don't be turned off by this. Every time I moved in my bed in St. Petersburg it squeeked.

Breakfast was just toast and coffee so if your expecting a Grand Slam, go to Denny's.

As for the common bathroom, I used the shower four different times and no one walked in on me. It has a hugh hot water heater. There is also a private shower for men and one for women, and four sinks in the hall. I never had to wait to use the shower or sinks!

Overall, I met many super people at this hostel and I found it friendly and very cheap. It was extremely easy to find, too.

I travelled almost 1 month in Europe now, and I loved this place the most. I felt so much welcome there and met so nice people , because communication is so easy in such a little place of just a dozen or some more beds. We had so amazing talks all evenings long, about the world and everything else with so niteresting people, namely Dan from Israel, Jenny from Italy, Sascha from Germany, Leo from Hong kong, Stefanie from France and Masatoshi from Japan, and other from the US, Kuweit and Sweden, and I met them all in the large living- dining-room, where everybody meets everyone, and you can cook there, or you are invited by other guests for dinner, which happened to me every single evening of my five day stay !!!

I could play my own favorite CDs there, and one guy played the guitar, it is the best hostel, I have seen so far.

Even there are only matraces on the floor, who cares, I found it cool.

And especially the common showers were much fun.

Finally, I enjoyed so much the relaxed and laid back atmosphere, a bit like a university-home of arts student, everywhere paintings of two art-students, who live here longer, and colours for everyone, to paint on the walls.

Such a relief from that impersonal hostel-industries.

And beside it's so central, just a minute away from the next underground, and only 10 minutes from a lovly lake, that David showed me, when he invited me to a little bicycle-trip, for swimming.

Special thanks to Sascha, who has such a talent to amuse, I laughed almost until collapsing about his spicy jokes.

Fabian Sörensen, from Denmark.

Our room, one of at least three, was crammed with around 18 mats on the floor so that the only floorspace left was the space needed to open the door. Combine this with the fact that there are 3 supposedly co-ed shower/toilet rooms and one of them contains 3 shower heads on the wall within 1 meter of a toilet bowl and a sink, and you get the incompetent version of a capsule hotel. I should mention that the owner did offer us a 2 EUR discount per night relative to the other guests whom he told us he was overcharging (?), and he was also occasionally apologetic for the fullness of the room... but it seemed natural for there to be cereal without milk and jam without bread for breakfast. The big excuse is that he wanted to take advantage of an influx of visitors to make up for money he lost last season. Well please and thank you. Maybe this place is okay when it's half-empty relative to its actual capacity, but otherwise just sleep in a park or something.

Very nice atmosphere. "feel at home" said Mapia as soon as we came in, and we did. Nice music being played, and small size makes it easy to get to know the other guests. Clean toilets and showers. Good location, just a 3 minute walk from the metro station."Gay and lesbian welcome" policy, so beware if youre sensitive about these issues. I didnt see any though.
