Backpackers Paradise is a very laid-back and friendly place, and probably the cheapest accomodation in the entire city (7 Euros).

You can meet interesting people, have a beer at the camp fire, rent a bike or use the internet (for free). The staff is helpful and they all speak english. Facilities are clean and you can even wash and dry laundry for a small fee... With a night bus at its doorstep you can get home when you've been out. I would definitely recommend it.

If you liked "The Tent" in Munich, then you'll like Backpacker's paradise. Backpacker's paradise is set up very similar to The Tent. You pay a minimal amount for a matress, blankets and a place in a large tent to sleep. They have nightly campfires and inexpensive beer, although it is a good 20 minute tram ride from the heart of Berlin.

The showers are clean, and the staff helpful.

Unlike The Tent, there seems to be less Americans at Backpacker's and more germans and other travelers, which was a nice change as they were all very nice and welcoming.

Also, unlike The Tent the kitchen facilities are nearly as nice, but if you must cook your own food you can.

Definitely stay at Backpacker's paradise if you don't mind roughing it a little.

Although quite a way out from the city centre this place is ridiculously cheap. You do however have to sleep on the floor in a big tent but you are provided with a materass and sleeping bag if you don't have one. It great for meeting people and at night (during the summer) they had a campfire going and you could buy beer from the kitchen, it had a great atmosphere and loads of really laid back travellers. It was just what I imagined travelling would be like. The staff were also really helpful and you can pay a little extra for a very good breakfast.
