this hostel was great for several reasons. first, the guy who was running matt (i think) was one of the nicest hostel operators we´ve encountered. he explained all the ins and outs of the hostel, plus showed us on our map where all the good sights were. he also likes to hear feedback regarding the hostel.the hostel also had free internet, clean bathrooms and an awesome location. it´s in the east side, within walking distance to most of the sights.berlin was a blast, and when i come back, i´m going to definatley stay at this hostel.

I am surprised I am the first to review this hostel as it open the summer of 2003. It has to be said that this is one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. I stayed here for eight nights and can think of very few faults. The price of 15Euros a night (rising to 20 on friday and saturday) for a bed in an 8 bed dorm is really excellent. The hostel's location is fantastic - situated in a rather nice part if east berlin close to many bars and cafes and only quater of an hour from the brandenburg gates. The hostel is fairly small - with only one mixed dorm and 4 or 5 smaller rooms. The atmosphere was always friendly, and the place was kept impeccibly clean by the lady in red clogs and matching hair!!! There is a useful kitchen. The bathroom facilities were fine, I hardly ever had to wait to use them. The owner Mathias goes out of his way to be helpful. This really is a fabulous base in which to explore this fantastic city
