BUG Review
Odysee is not a bad hostel and features a nice bar area. Facilities include the usual TV lounge, Internet access plus a pool table and table football. It's a bit out from the centre but not too far from the Alexanderplatz area.
Price Dorm bed €10-19.50 (€9.50-18.53 ISIC) Single room €29-36 (€27.55-34.20 ISIC) Double room €39-54 (€37.05-51.30 ISIC) Prices are in local currency and are inclusive of all taxes.

it really is good, the breakfast that is, the hostel's alright too! we weren't meant to stay here as long as we did but it seems to be a place you can really settle down in. the best thing we did in berlin was going to Sage, a club with a swimming pool (no swimming - too classy for swimming). the hostel is seemingly run by metalheaded students who are very friendly and aren't scared of cheating the system (I saw a poster on the wall giving tips on how to get away with not buying a train ticket). Not that you'd need to know these things of course...

My friends and I stayed in this hostel last summer (July 2002) and were very satisfied. Many of the rooms have different themes with unusual art work. It is a bit of an alternative type of hostel: the music is a bit on the dark side (we heard a bit of goth, sonic youth, the cure, joy division) so it depends what you're into! We thought there was a pretty good atmosphere. There is a pool table and breakfast is decent though not spectacular. The rooms themselves are immaculately clean and bathrooms very clean too. The staff speak english and I had no problems booking via email. It is near to the Metro, which I must say is very efficient and the best way to travel around Berlin. We were very pleased with our stay overall. I would also recommend Insider Tours for walking/cycling tours of Berlin, they are fantastic!

Pro's: close to metro station and ostbahnhof, very cheap internet (1 euro per hour) nearby, table soccer and pool table, very cheap beer/ drinks, great breakfast (3 euros all you can eat - fruit, cereal, toast, rolls, cheese, etc), fantastic beds (not bunks, own locker/ coathangers).Con's: have to catch metro, or walk for 30 mins to get to city centre, one staff member plays really bad music and got angry at us for asking for it to be changed, table soccer is in the same room as the television making tv unwatchable while table soccer is being played.Overall though, there isnt too much to fault the hostel on - booking on their website was easy once i signed up to paypal, and they were very accomodating when i wanted to alter my booking.

In traveling around Europe for 3 weeks and staying in over 8 hostels, we found this one to be the best! Spotless HUGE rooms with excellent bathrooms down the hall. Nice lounge area downstairs with small bar and pool table. Not exactly a party hostel, but an excellent place to stay. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, (the guy at the bar knows about every club and party going on in berlin) not close to alot but a few blocks from the metro. Definately stay here!

This hotel is clean and very funky. The place has very funky decoration, plays cool music and has a pretty wild vibe. Good breakfast and dinners at cheap prices. Great place to hang out and meet people with a bar & pool table. Only downfall is that its pretty far away, its in east berlin so u have to train everywhere...but despite this fact it was a cool place to stay. I recommend booking, it gets full, I received a lot of recommendations for it as I travelled around Europe.
