Sunflower is a relaxed fun hostel with a nice common area that includes a TV lounge, Internet access and table football. Close to Ostbahnhof but the neighbourhood doesn't feel too safe.

a ray of sunshine in grey East Berlin. it is in the farther part of East Berlin. so, transport to downtown berlin is a little lengthy. but german transport is very efficient. no night transportation goes out there so a taxi will be needed or walking. but the hostel itself is immaculate. helpful service, great setup, funky themed rooms. overall a great expereince. the workers really know what is going on in town.

The rooms are cheap, spacy, and have cool paint jobs. It's really clean and pretty friendly. I didn't find the common area very fun to hang out in, though. It's a bit far out from the city center, and the transport isn't terribly cheap. But, there is a street nearby with a lot of nice bars and restraunts. If you want to save a few bucks there's a kiosk right next to them that sells tall cold beers for about 60 cents USD. The hostel has laundry facilities, beer, food, and an expensive internet hook-up.
