This hostel was very clean; the staff were very friendly and helpful; and it was in a good location (short metro ride to city centre). Cologne itself is a great German city, one of my favorites. The hostel staff were accomodating; we reserved one night and ended up staying 3. Breakfast is plentiful and tastey and the reception serves beer and snacks. It is a bit on the pricier side but was worth the good service and spotless rooms.

nice one, just along the rhine, open 24h, nice rooms, good breakfast, but a bit far from downtown: you will have trouble if you lost the last metro in the night (morning). it's perfect to rest after a beer-to-beer tour of the city. koln is great, unfortunately i was with a friend who looked drunk all the time, so many times we weren't allowed to enter the several pubs in the university district; it has been difficult to control him, he was trying to beat a record and to spend 4 days in germany without eating, just drinking kolsh beer.... and no pissing....! crazy! recommended

I had really enjoyed this hostel. Every night we took the last train, that of 3:20 and the receptionist was always ready to let us in. A great time spent there. Recommended. Koln is fantastic. Look for concerts od electronic and dance music, it's a great experience.

I got a bed the day i arrived but it was one of the last. I had to get a train out of town to get to it. It look like a massive tower bloke. The setting is nice, lots of trees and the river rhine is close by. The problem was it was too big and full of families on holiday, school kids and strange old people. I was on the 5th floor, there is a lift but very slow. THe room was clean and tidy but on the small side for 6 people. We did have our own bathroom that was nice and clean. After i arrived a strange old woman with loads of bags appeared. She kept eating and she flooded the bathroom, very gross. THe breakfast was usual hostel stuff but the hot choc was crap.

The whole time i was there kids were running amok screaming and being a general nuisance, and no sign of parents. A friend of mine was woken up at 5.30 am by kids playing in the garden.

It was adequate to stay for short time, but no atmosphere and full of german tourists.

I went here with my school and after a night on a bus and then being out all day it was brilliant. The only problem was that my feet were sore and i had to climb to get to my bunk. I wish i could have spent more time there.
