Pros:- free internet- no bunkbeds, and the place gave somewhat a nice "apartment" like atmosphere.-easy direction to walk from the train station (it's by the banks of the Rhine). bar/entertainment district walkable..- bathroom and kitchen are ensuite!- bar was the main common area, and its not too noisy.Cons:- its good that they had a kitchen, but where are the utensils?? they didn't even have cutlery at all, so i had to go down to the bar and beg for utensils. only a fork and spoon were given to me, and i had to borrow my roomates' swiss army knife..- a 15 minute walk from train station (i actually don't mind much)- do they ever have ventilation in the bar? - rotten service by staff

I was there on Feb 03.. I really didn't enjoy my stay. The lady staff looked as if she was doped.. not providing any information.. A board in the bar reading, "If you don't pay, we'll break your leg" was quite scary.. I was promised for some parking guidelines by phone but when I went, they just turned cold shoulders.. Rooms were stinking and unclean..

i thought this hostel was ok. it was far to walk from the station, esp. with a backpack, but the bar there was great, the internet is free, and the people i shared a room/flat with were nice. there were no bunkbeds here, which made the rooms a bit cramped but after three months of living in bunkbeds that was fine with me. some of the people who run the place seemed to be in a bit of a hurry though, and didn't pay much attention to doublebookings or whatever problems came up.

The place is clean and comfortable, and the bar downstairs is great. Very nice and helpful staff. It's a 15-20 minutes walk from the Dom and the train station, OK for coming and going, but not if you have a heavy backpack. The Heumarkt tram station is about 5 minutes away (if you can find your way), but is not a really better alternative.

It's a bit of a stroll to get to this place--at least 20 minutes from the cathedral/train station. Rooms and bathrooms are all right, and the bar is fairly social. It's an incredibly small operation, though, and it seems, more or less, that the owner is just trying to make some extra money by renting out the rooms above his bar. It fills up extremely quickly, but I'm not sure why--it's not worth the walk.
