Staff were okay, and reasonably friendly. Breakfast was kinda cool as it was easy to pinch stuff for sandwhiches later ;) and was nice as well. A nice location with easy access to the town and good restaurants nearby, gorgeous view of the river and a bus stop right outside.

The only bad point really was the freezing cold showers.

I recently stayed in this hostel and had a good time. There was no wake up call as I had been expecting which was nice but one day we wanted to lie in but kept getting the cleaners coming into our room. No TV lounge or social room really. Just a small corner of the hostel by a TV and one at the entrance where the food and drink machines are. It's all really clean and set back behind trees along the river so it's in a lovely location. When i go back to Düsseldorf, I will definately be staying there again. It's a good few kilometres from the Hauptbahnhof and we walked to the hostel from their but I would advise using the bus or trams as it's so much more easier.

This was my first ever trip away alone, and I was terrified that it would be a disaster. I couldn't have been more wrong. It was one of the most wonderful 4 days I have ever had. The rooms were clean and spacious with three bunks in mine and secure lockers. The bathrooms were immaculate. Breakfast was plentiful and typically european. I found the staff friendly and very helpful. As for the wake up music - the first 2 mornings I thought it was a neighbours radio! It was a truly relaxing and impressive hostel. Being on the banks of the Rhein made the experience all the more enjoyable. Close to the bus stop and the trams, it was easy and cheap to cross the river and explore the old town. I wouldn't have missed it for the world. Highly recommended.

Rude staff, and a compulsory broadcast wake up call (at full volume at 7.15am) made this my least favorite hostel over a 4 month trip. Rooms are fine, location fine, but I breakfast is over at 0830! Just like prison I am sure.
