Pros:
The staff have a thorough knowledge of the city and region -- very helpful
Cons:
The lighting in the rooms is difficult; WiFi would be appreciated as well

Lollis Homestay offers a comfortable night´s sleep and is an ideal post from which to plan adventures hiking in the Saxon Switzerland, about 40 minutes south of the city. The staff are particularly knowlegeable about this region and can be counted upon to offer suggestion for making best use of time and resources. It´s a good place to converse, play chess and listen to music -- there are isntruments available for guests to use. The beer comes fresh ailyfrom Germany´s smallet brewery, in three varieties -- drop a Euro into the kitty after hours and help yourself. The breakfast is not a strong point - expensive and not worth it. Better to go to one of the cafés is the Neustadt or obtain provisions from the local bakery. The area abunds in cheap places to eat. Some of the neighbouring estabishments are distracting -- not that one would pay attention, but a little caution is advised.
Pros:
Great staff
Cons:
Location is relatively far from the old town

Front desk staff were pleasant, helpful and dedicated to their roles. The common room was very social, but of course this largely depends on the people who are staying there at the time. Furniture, bedsheets and other furnishings were a bit tired but sufficiently clean. My room was very dark at night however due to poor lighting. There are two showers within the ladies bathroom. Those who are especially concerned about privacy should be aware that the shower screens are see-through, and the main door is not lockable. That said, no one had walked in on me in the shower during my stay at the hostel. The hostel's website provides a map and instructions on how to get there. NOTE that Antonstrasse also goes in the opposite direction to that shown on the small map on the hostel's website. I took the wrong direction and was lost for half an hour, which was unpleasant especially on a foggy night on Christmas Eve when the streets were eerily quiet.
Pros:
The front lounge/common room
Cons:
Narrow stairs

I stayed here for a few nights and had no problems. The bunks are a good size and quite comfy and the bathroom was clean and a large. The staff were friendly and the front lounge/common room is quite nice. The only issues I would have would be that the stairwells to the rooms are wide but the stairs are quite narrow, and that the kitchen can be a bit dark. But I met some nice people here and would probably stay here again if in Dresden.

Super-clean, super-fun, super-friendly hostel in the partying part of town and a nice walk to the old town's museum. The rooms have fabulous decorations from the beer-bottle chandalier to the crop circles painted on the living room walls. The only improvement would be to make it non-smoking inside. I highly recommend it.

Stayed here in Feb 06, and have nothing but praise. A great little hostel in a convenient but fun location - one of those places on the 'Krumlov House/Poets Corner' model!I suppose rooms could be a bit more spacious (when isn't this the case) but I suspect the economics would count against this! The bathroom was excellent, the kitchen well-equipped and clean, and the common room allowed plenty of people-watching - Neustadt is that sort of area!Last, but emphatically not least - the staff - really helpful and knowledgeable!I'd certainly stay there again!

Located in a great neighborhood in the Nuestaat. This hostel is one that you want to go back to as it makes Dresden feel like home . The rooms are kept clean and the baths are well appointed . The location is great for those who enjoy clubbing and small galleries . Yet the rest of the city is close by tram. It is well worth the money to stay here.

Location: The hostel is located in the neustadt where all the clubs/bars. It's about 15-20 mins walk from the altstadt. Facilities: Washroom and showers are very clean. The place seems to be newly renovated. The dorm room are very clean and comfy as well. The hostel has kitchen so if you want to save some money you can always cook yourself (There's a couple grocery stores near by).Overall: The staff were very friendly and helpful. There's music playing all the time which makes the atmosphere really relaxed. The bad: Since bars and clubs are close to the hostel it's a bit noisy at night if you want to get some rest early.

Full with charater, clean, good facilities (kitchen, common area, internet....beers!!) & very important, the 2 nice, helpful & friendly owners that run the hostel by themselves. They do most of the renovation & decoration, which they r very proud of & impress me as well. Located in a very interesting area (an artist's neighbourhood) with pubs and nightlife around. Definitely 1 of my favourite hostel.
