arriving in lubeck on the first day of the altstadtfest, the wonderful owner of this hostel let us put a tent in her yard for two nights free of charge! after which she put us in a beautiful room in the attick of the house with a wonderful bed, comfortable chairs and a view! the kitchen in this hostel is large and well supplied with cooking utensils. the city of lubeck is in a perfect position for day trips to hamburg and poel island, and even bits of denmark. plus, there is at least two days worth of things to see and do in lubeck. planning on a brief stop here, we ended up spending over a week just so we could keep coming home to this hostel. if you go anywhere in germany, even anywhere near germany, you should go to lubeck just to stay in this hostel to see how hostels should all be.

I was not planning on staying in Lubeck 2 extra days, but because of this wonderful hostel I did. The owner Piia is an extrodinary woman who is interesting and interested in the travelers she meets. What a wonderful place and at an amazing price. I can't say enough good things about it.

I stayed here a few years ago, and it was the most hospitable week during a very long, strenuous, and lonely journey across the continent. The owner is great for conversing, the place is always clean, and Lubeck is a beautiful and poetic city. I long to go back.

i cant argue with the other reviews, this place is great. its extremely clean, and the owner is really friendly. the showers are amazing, and rooms are quite spacious. it is a bit of a walk from the main train station, but close to the main area of town, and theres a nice restaurant right next door.

This hostel is by far the nicest one I have ever been in. I was at the Rucksack last winter and the owner and employees made my trip Lubeck very enjoyable. In addition to the wonderful facilities (and an incredible bathroom), the warm feel of this hostel is unparalleled in Europe. Good job, Piia. Keep it up.

Lubeck in an amazing town, very underated, perfect for one or 2 nights if you arrive into germany on easyjet from stansed. It reminds me of brugge in belgium, without the canels. It's a very well preserved medieval town, it's a shame so many people go straight to hamburg and skip lubeck. This hostel is is more like a hotel, with a beautiful interior, very spacious bedrooms, the nicest bathrooms I've ever seen in a hostel. The owner is amazingly nice, a friend called me and left a message, and she gave me her phone to use for free, not once, but several times! It's a very personable hostel, with a great lobby and kitchen. If your going to Germany, trust me, stay here for 1 night, it's very close to Hamburg, it's an amazing town.I've travelled around germany quite a bit and the best thing about it is the smaller towns like Lubeck, rather then the big 4 or 5 main tourist cities. This is the best hostel in Germany. SUmmary- Go to Lubeck, stay at this hostel!
