This summer i traveled to greece to travel and see the sites of ancient greece but wanting to have a fun time while doing it. to cut to the point where i arrived on corfu, Spiros was waiting when i arrived off the ferry with a big green van with "SUNROCK HOSTEL" in big red letters. he told me about everything offered at his hostel and the price was only 18 euro for me for each night and breakfast and dinner was included. i decided it was my best option since it can be a hassle on your budget to have to buy meals. when i arrived things were exactly as spiros had described them except better. i waited on the sundeck with an incredible view of the sea below and the curling beach landscape. Madalena came out and greeted me and brought out breakfast shortly thereafter. she explained the many attractions around corfu such as the museums or achillion palace of achilles and other places like world war II places of interest. after i rested up i took the short walk down to the beach and relaxed for awhile. the dinner that night and every night after was incredible. nothing like what i would have expected from a meal that was included in the price per night. a good sized greek salad along with a full entree meal was supplied before me of authentic greek food. the night atmosphere was mixed up differently each night (i planned on only staying 3 nights but lasted 8!) some nights things were chill and everyone just relaxed and visited and got to know each other and sipped on wine, other nights we had a toga party with music and everyone socializing in a fun atmosphere party. The hostel actually reminds me more of a resort than a hostel. the usual image one gets in their head of a hostel is nothing like what you receive here. Needless to say i would highly recommend you going and experience all that Madalena and Spiros offer at sunrock.

How good is this place? Almost the entire staff was composed of travellers who came and decided to stay for a while. I almost got sucked in myself. I'm sure Pink Palace is a lot of fun, but really, do yourself a favour and stay here. Sunrock has it all: a spectacular beach about two minutes away, the grest sunsets in Corfu, a fully-stocked bar, and home cooked meals at night. Just watch out for the tab: it tends to accumulate fairly quickly!

This place was relaxed, beautiful, and very inexpensive. They really do well by keeping everything on your personal tab so you don't have to carry a wallet around with you. Dinners are great, and included in the price. Breakfast is also included but not very good except for the french toast.

Drinks are average price. Rooms are good although there were a fair few mosquitos. The beach is gorgeous, tranquil, and like 2 minutes away walking. When you pay your tab, you pay for your room, drinks, snacks, and anything else all at once. Paying takes a while, though, as they have to total up your tab but no biggie.

Not generally a huge party but a cosy place to hang with 20 or so good people and a great family and dog.

When i first arrived in Corfu, i managed to locate Sunrock via an office at the port. In no time at all, they picked me up and transported me free to the hostel.

As soon as i arrived i was made to feel so welcome and the views from the balconies are breathtaking.

Off season, you are faced with cosy nights by a real log fire with REAL greek home made and cooked food which was delicious every night. The drinks at the bar were very nicley priced and the company of the other backpackers AND the host family has been fabulous.

If you want a warm welcoming stay on the island, want to experience real greek home cooked food and really get to know the greek people, then Sunrock will satisfy your needs and , like me, you will leave with fond memories of rest, relaxation and a warm glow inside!

BTW- Watch out for Ted's famous drinking games, they are soooooooooo hilarious!

First of all, I have to say that I stayed at Sunrock in late September, so NOT main season. I cant say, if there is so much party like the authors below describe.

In September, Sunrock was a wonderful and very comfortable place to stay. First of all, we were only between 10 and 13 visitors, so it was almost like a big family. You stay together with the family all day, escpecially Mada is always there to help you. The price was 15 euros a night including a fantastic breakfast and delicious traditional greek dinner, that we all had together after sunset. The beach is VERY BEAUTIFUL and far better than the beaches of other hostels.

The 2 days here were the most relaxing ones during my trip. The beach is very close and if you get bored, you can rent for example snorchels for 1 euro. Generally, the prices for drinks and snacks are OK. You can come to terms with maybe 10 euros more per day, which makes 25 euros for a perfect day! As the hostel was not crowded, we also got to know the other family members, which was very nice.

As paradise doesnt exist (as we all know), one can criticize, that 3,50 euro for half an hour internet is too much.

Sunrock was the place I felt most comfortable and I can recommend it to everybody going to Corfu in low season to relax from Greek sightseeing.

Remark: Getting to Sunrock was very easy, because the owner picked my up (just like a colorfull bus of the other hostel does), but he also took my back to town for free (the colourfull bus askes for 3 euros to take you back from their colourfull palace)

Well, I met my husband there and one year later we were married at sunrock.....i think that's gotta be the best review a place can get. Absolutely magical, from the family who runs it (and made me feel like one of their own), to the food (mada is a wiz in the kitchen), to the atmosphere, not to mention the beach, this is the greatest place on earth.

We (nine of us!) finished our month long trip round greece and italy here, and it was the perfect place to end up. Everything about it is perfect, the rooms are clean and huge too!! the staff are so sweet, and the kids!! how can no one mention Angelo - the cutest boy ever!! lots of swimming, playing chess and LOADs of drinking! and its really cheap!! WARNING - Dont have jelly fights, you will only feel guilty next morning when u see the mess you all created!!

This place is my ultimate favorite of all the places I stayed in Europe. Its so friendly and on this beautiful secluded beach with excellent food included and all for about 20 euros. You can not go wrong. I loved it so much in fact I want to be back there right now.
