Summit zero was exactly what I was looking for in a hostel. I felt at home all the time, and I never got bored. Periclis helped me with everything I asked for, he cooks amazingly and his love for the mountain, adventure and nature is evident everywhere. together with his friends they will give you an adventure of high interest, beauty and most of all safety. The location is magical combining clean sea and the majestic mountain of Olympus. Once finished exploring the mountain, the hostel is very close to archaelogical sites and major cities for an overall experience of Northern Greece. The price rates are refreshing compared to the expensiveness that proliferates everywhere. If you dont visit Summit Zero you are missing out.

This was one of my favorite hostels in my whole Greece visit. It was a really good value considering how cleanly & nice the place was & the price included breakfast. The owner was very friendly and helpful in our questions and advice for climbing Mt. Olympus. If you are planning to climb it, I would not recommend any other hostel in the area!

This hostel is situated in the best possible location for outdoor activities. It offers alpine style accommodation on a beautiful beach. You can go hiking and rock climbing on the highest mountain of Greece and on the next day go swimming on the beach with snow in the background. The area is full of ancient Macedonian antiquities as well for a bit of cultural sightseeing. The hostel is easily accessible by bus, train and motorway.

It has been recently renovated, so everything looks and feels nice and clean. The atmosphere is one of its best attributes as Peri, the host, will take care of everything and make you feel at home.

Stayed for 4 days after climbing Mt. Olympus. It was the ideal and most relaxing place to stay after a long trek on fantastic Olympus. Summit zero is more than a hostel, with two very friendly owners that will go out of their way to assist you and please you and with great knowledge on the Mountain and on outdoor activities. Jumping in the Agean sea after a hot week was also a great plus as it just lays about 50metres from hostel's grounds!! The place is quiet, clean and picturesque and a variable mixture of people were visiting while there; from climbers, travellers, to local fisheremen making the place even more interesting! Do not miss on the guys' homemade food and definitely try their own local spirit... called tsipouro!! It is a firewarmer. Will definetely be visiting, hopefully with some more friends from Denmark, and in the winter this time for some witnry climbing up Olympus. Great that the hostel is open all year around whether is busy or not.

This place is a real gem- the location is unbeatable, with Mount Olympus on the doorstep and the beach close by. Peri, the trusty host with the looks of a Greek God, was really friendly and helpful and showed us a great time. Make sure you take full advantage of the activities on offer- we managed to fit in loads of hiking and were taken to some amazing climbing sites- don't miss out Mitikas Peak. And what better way to relax after a hard day in the mountains than with a hearty home cooked meal and a cold beer in the garden! Will definitely be going back.

I have stayed at Summit Zero a few times now and loved it everytime. It is a perfect stop off after the long hike up Olympus and the host will go out of his way to make you feel at home! There is nothing else similar in the area, great if you are on a budget or just want a bargain holiday. I am planning to go back during the winter as there is a ski resort close by (have heard rumours that there is a bit of off-piste down Olympus too!) Would recommend this to everyone - young or old. Even if you don't want to hike olympus there is plenty to do in the local area.

perfect combination of beach and adventure, absolutely loved it, May 7, 2007
Reviewer: sholto from London, which is in England

Pros: the fact that you are at the foot of mount olympus with the sea right next to you
Cons: the table tennis table wasn't fixed up so we had to play on the kitchen table

I am proud to have been in the first group of visitors to summit zero - even though the place still needed a lick of paint (which it has since had, I believe) it was full of character and very comfortable. We were royally treated and expertly guided up olympus, where we spent a couple of nights before coming back down and spending the rest of the stay relaxing and wandering out of the back door straight onto the beach!

the whole trip was fantastic, can't wait to go back. I hope the owners' table-tennis skills have improved considerably though, I need more of a challenge than that.

Great place for young backpackers! Right by both Mount Olympus and a beautiful beach., April 30, 2007

This place is great! Perfect place for young people who are backpacking and ready to make new friends and see some amazing and unusual stuff. It is near the base of Mount Olympus and right on a beautiful beach. You can climb the mountain or walk through the beautiful valley and then come put your tired feet in the ocean. It is a new business just starting up, and everything is clean and new. The owner was incredibly nice to us! It's also a perfect place if you are looking for something off the beaten path and not filled with tourists. You can climb the mountain in a full day, and there is a very clearly marked and safe trail through the valley and up Mount Olympus. The guy who runs it cooks a fabulous dinner, too, and breakfast is included. Great price and a great experience. We hope to go back one day.
