The double room with an external bathroom was only EUR 25. We would have preferred to have the facilities in the room though. Everything was clean and the owners were nice.

If you're planning Nafplio into your Peloponnese travel plans, this may be the only good hostel choice, or economical choice you have. They maintain a few rooms with about 5 beds each as hostels in this quaint hotel on a residential block of the town, maybe a mile or so from the town center. The building is a little intituational by feel, but comfortable enough and quite clean. At the time we stayed, June 2002, we each paid about 8 euro for a bed and were treated to a nice room with a balcony looking out over.......... some suburbs. Yeah, kind of blah. But there's a supermarket just around the corner, and those who have rental cars will find ample parking. This was a pleasant stop for a night, and if for some reason or another you should want to stay longer in this town, you could probably do a lot worse than to base your ops here. On an odd note, the hotel's name doesn't derive from it's economical status; the owner's name is Economou.
