This is the worst hostel I have been to. We came to the reception and paid for two nights at this hostel. When we were then taken to our room it turned out to be in another building about 5 minutes' walk away. When we got there we were rather shocked. The room was filthy and in a very bad condition. There was no window and no air conditioning and there was bad air and yucky smell in the room from the old and dirty matrasses and the smoke from the common room next to our room. The bathrooms and the common room were filthy too. The kitchen facilities and internet access that this hostel advertises is where the reception is, so most guests don't have those facilities in the same building as they are sleeping in.We were provided with clean sheets to put on the filthy beds but when I started putting them on I got an allergic reaction (I suspect they had bed bugs, which I'm allergic to). It became clear I couldn't stay there, so we wanted to move to another hostel. We spent only 5 minutes in the room and didn't use anything and yet the reception staff was very reluctant to return any of our money, even after I showed them the allergy rashes on my hands. The guy at the reception insisted that it was not their problem and he acted surprised we were not happy about the facilities. Finally another guest who had overheard our argument with the staff volunteered to take our room and we got our money back after all, but had it not been for that guest the hostel staff would probably not have returned any of it.This hostel is quite terrible and I can't recommend it at all. The only good thing about it is that it's well located, but there is plenty of other hostels in the area and quite frankly they can hardly be worse than this one.

I spent two months in hostels all over Europe, and this was probably the worst. All I ask for is a decent bed and shower, and this place lacked both. This hostel's only attribute was its location. The beds were very uncomfortable, with springs sticking out of some. There was only one shower available, therefore you could wait up to an hour in order to shower in the morning. Overall, it was a disappointment.

Stayed here for two days in November. Great location in central Pest. The hostel is really a flat converted into a hostel, but all in all, it's a good place. There are only 2 bathrooms for 3 rooms (24 people), so the shower line gets long, but it's ok.As someone said, there is good security. You need a key for the main door, then another key for the front door. The staff when I went didn't seem TOO knowledgable or overly friendly like some hostels I've been to, but they were helpful. There is only one computer, so the internet line gets long. The breakfast is free, but it's the standard cereal, tea, and toast. Better than nothing though.The place is OK for meeting people, due to it's dining table area. The place is a little small, but it has a cozy atmosphere to it.

this is currently one of the cheapest places to stay in central pest, at 12 euros per bed its half the price what some places (like the huge mellow mood hostel) are charging! did a quick one night stay here before easyjetting home, but arrived early from the 7am night train from bucharest. The two staff were very helpful, offering us breakfast. the one computer (free internet) seemed enough as the hostel is only 4 dorms of 6/8, and the kitchen is impressive for a place so small. its all non-smoking inside which is a great relief after the numerous smoking common rooms ive come across (Museum guest house, mellow mood etc).Security is good- theres an outside combination lock, a night key for the front door and padlocks for lockers, although no individual room keys. Overall a good stay, and they have some apartments next door for groups of 3+ as well!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for three nights in December. The place is incredibly cheap, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the place is clean. In fact, the staff stayed up with a few of us one night, drinking and talking (though not loud enough to disturb other people). It's not a big loud party place, but it's congenial and in the center of the city on the Pest side. I recommend it to anybody.

I definitely reccommend this one. It's location is great, a short walk from the River and close to shopping and bar areas.The staff are incredibly friendly, and helpfull and easy going. The place is seems small (but has plenty of beds) but it creates a freindly atmostphere. The only thing I would say is with only two bath rooms, this could be a problem when full.The other thing that's really good is the 24 hour reception (we had a really really late flight, so had to search for somewhere with a any time check in). Also you get your own key, and also a large locker with lock and key.I defintely would recommend this one for a pleasant, friendly stay.
