The main reason we booked this hostel was its advertisement of 'Free Laundry.' Unfortunately, the hostel doesn't have laundry of any kind, free or not. When asked about this discrepency the woman at the front simply replied that the internet contained incorrect information. Then later we discovered in a brochure for Hostels in Budapest the same information, to which the woman at the front replied that the brochure had incorrect information. I really got the vibe that they had put that in just to lure in backpackers, and it worked. As far as the rest of the Hostel, it wasn't great. The "cozy" rec room was a couple of chairs, the kitchen was pretty dirty, and the sheets had stains on them (looked like blood that someone had tried to bleach out actually.) The bathrooms were fine and the location was pretty good. You're in walking distance of Buda Castle and Moscow Station (Metro), and the 'great' shopping area they talk about is a second rate mall across the street.Overall I'd say from what I've read other places sound better, and I'd only stay here if everything else was booked. I may be a little biased because I felt lied to, but I've definately stayed in better hostels in worse towns.

This place is not at all bad really, just not THAT great. Its a little on the expensive side. Mind you, having said that, Budapest is not the bargain that I was expecting, so perhaps overall it represents reasonable value. This is a summer-only hostel, normally its a college dorm, and it kinda looks like one. Firstly, not the easiest place to find, although once you know its dead easy. Its close to Széna Tér, which is just north of Moszkva Tér (big metro and tram/bus interchange in Buda). Basically, get off the metro at Moszkva Tér, head north, cross over the road next to Mammut (huge mall on the left hand side of Margit Körút), watching out for the trams of course, walk north a few meters to Bákfark Bálint Utca, and then the hostel is on your right hand side at the end of this small street (which is so small as not to feature on most maps !).The place is pretty basic. 6 beds to a room, apparently there are some 4-bunk bed rooms upstairs, haven't seen those. Good shower and toilet facilities, despite the annoying kind of shower buttons that you have to keep pressing in to get a decent volume of water ! There are no other facilities to speak of, at least none that I've found out about. The staff are all quite friendly and speak great english (huge plus in this country, hungarian is nigh on impossible) and really quite helpful. Good location, right on tram and bus route and so close to the metro. Nothing of interest in Buda or Pest is very far away at all. Lots of good, reasonably-priced eateries in the vicinity (seemed on the expensive side at first but you should see central Pest - NOT cheap). The shopping mall is great but also expensive - I'm sure you could do better elsewhere.A tip, if you're in one of the rooms at the front, earplugs might be a plus, its damn noisy especially at 5am when the buses start pulling into the little bus station at Széna Tér.One final thing, its pronounced sort of like BAHK-fork, but if you don't say it right, then it comes out more like buttf*ck. At least it did when I tried it !!
