My girlfriend and I were looking for a double room in Budapest in the midst of the Sziget Music festival so it was pretty tight as far as accomodations go. We resorted to this because it was a decent price for a double room. However, after calling a few times the very friendly girl(s) who answer the phone simply didn't seem to know what was going on. They told us to take a tram to the hostel, but later we found out that there was a YHI bus taking people around to places like Hostel Rozsas. When we arrived, they appeared to know about it. There are plenty of other examples of the staff not really knowing much information but that is not the main reason I had problems with the hostel. The rooms were pretty basic - no problem since I knew it was a university dormitory. The beds were not that comfortable. The bathroom and toilet was pretty disgusting. It didn't look like they cleaned either very often. And the shower (without curtains or a place to put your stuff) is basically a faucet placed high up - imagine bathing yourself under a thin stream of water. It's not so easy. All in all I'm glad we had a place to stay and it was not overpriced. People who were staying there seemed unfriendly, maybe because they were sleeping in such a crappy hostel. But I wouldn't recommend this place unless in dire circumstances.
