I stayed here in August 2002. This was magnificent. Very clean, helpful staff and well organised. They provide a buffet breakfast which is described as 'sumptuous' in their literature. Though it's not quite that, it is also good. The cost is more than the average hostel, but this is no hostel. This is a real, yet basic, hotel. They have an interesting map of the world on the wall. Guests are encouraged to put a pin in the location they are from, so everyone can see the diversity of their fellow guests. The location is good - a short bus or metro journey into the heart of the city. Highly recommended.

I stayed here for 3 nights last winter, and to my opinion it's ok if you wanna focus on sight-seeing instead of partying. It's not too close to the city center, but there's a subway station at walking distance from the hostel. I booked a "dorm" which turned out to be a huge 4 bedded room with private bathroom and even a bathtub! The girl at the reception was very helpful and her english was good. She helped me out with the Budapest-card and had maps and everything, the usual tourist-stuff. Since it was low-season, I had the room most of the time to myself. I don't know what it's like in high season.

Breakfast was ok, nothing special. They do have internet-acces. When I return to Budapest, I would consider this hostel again! (but then again, I always like trying new things..)

Hi this place is the most dreary place to stay, especially for the solo traveller. They will try to suck you in to stay here at the Keleti train station. They charge you 5000 HUF to stay in a four bed dorm. The place is very intimidating with big bald mafiaso dudes mulling about. The staff are surly and everyone who stayed there has said to me that its awful. Its way out of the way as well. My advice is to keep clear from this hole.
