I would only recommend that you stay here if you have no options.The standard of hygiene and cleanliness was apalling and the bed was a makeshift cannibalised affair which was downright uncomfortable.The guy on night duty was friendly enough and pretty helpful but the owners should be ashamed at charging these prices for what is effectively a glorified dosshouse.

We looked at this hostel and decided that we should look in town.We found the most enjoyable guest accom on Dublin st above the Cigar Divan.Great location,Good people.25 Dublin st

We were tired and weary from a long drive....If we hadn't been, we would have tried somewhere else. Dingey Bed, poor facilities... but the guy there was really friendly. What a shame. Carlow is full of young people who are studying at the Technical College. Not a lot of trad irish atmosphere.

On arrival, the hostel looked idyllic, mowed lawns and the Barrow river close by. However inside facilities were poor with tired bunk beds and shappy decor. Breakfast was not available despite being advertised on the web. The cooker was down right dangerous. 2 nights accomadation was definitely the limit.
