BUG Review
Paddy's Doolin Hostel is a big place that offers basic accommodation with shared facilities that include a big kitchen and TV lounge. The décor feels a little tired and the no alcohol rule combines to dampen the atmosphere. Some accommodation is in the building across the road, which has en suites in all rooms and the extra building makes it possible to separate groups from independent travellers.

Sterile, but functional, March 4, 2007
Reviewer: HP_Lovecraft from Maine, USA

Pros: Nearest the best pubs, bus stop, castle, and cliffs of Moher
Cons: Farthest from bike rental, and only store.

This hostel has all the benefits and negatives you would expect from a purpose-built hostel. It lacks any sort of atmosphere, but is completely functional with a huge kitchen, dining room, living area and parking lot.

There is also tennis courts, and an in-hostel mini store, though I could never find the manager to buy anything.

The big plus, however, is conveinence. It is the only hostel officially on the bus schedule. Bus Eireann will stop anywhere, but only Paddy's is a guarantee. It is also closed to the best pubs in town for traditional music, as well as closest to the ferry for trips to the Arans, and trips to the castles, Cliffs of Moher.

The negative is lack of atmosphere. I've also stayed in the nearby Rainbow Hostel, which is overflowing with character. Never a dull moment, but in the end, I prefer the conveinence of the this hostel, over the "cozy character" of the nearby places. But, I am the type to spends as little time in the hostel as possible. If you like to Hostel to meet people and hang out, then the other hostels might be better.
