This lovely small hostel is in a farmhouse in the countryside 15km from Ennis. The outside looks a little tired but it is nicely renovated inside. It has a fully equipped kitchen, a cosy TV lounge and nice bathrooms. The location is only really convenient if you're driving.

I found this hostel on this site and it looked great. I didn't realise that it was right out in the middle of the Irish country side, but as we were doing a bank weekend turbo tour of west Ireland, it wasn't a problem. We said we would be there at 6.00 and we didn't end up getting there til around 10.30. This was never a problem. Carmen, the owner told us that we should take our time and not to worry. When we got there we discovered a homely warm place with a big kitchen, ultra comfortable beds with clean sheets and duvets and clean toilets and showers. Carmen told us that she would be going up the road to the local for a pint if we wanted to go. She asked us if we had anything for breakfast (as breakfast is not included) and she gave us a loaf of bread and some milk, tea and coffee! We walked up to the pub and discovered one of those authentic little places with great atmosphere and an open fire. When we left, although we had not really talked to the locals, they all stood up and waved goodnight to us! We walked back to the house at 1.00am with the torch provided at the hostel for such excursions, and slept like a log. You wake up to rolling hills, birds, sheep and can have a play with Carmens dogs, who are very friendly. I would thoroughly recommend this hostel to get out of the big cities and experience real Irish country living and hospitality.
