I stayed here in August 2003...the whole experience has left me traumatised. The only way youll manage a pleasant nights sleep on the "matresses made of concrete" is to drink vast amounts of alcohol beforehand (I suggest 6-7 pints). The discovery of a pair of abandoned handcuffs under one of the beds in the morning was the highlight for me.

I'd like to give more stars for the strength of the welcome and the attached secondhand bookshop in the garage but I can't. This a peculiar 50s, early 60s, timewarp of a hostel with horsehair mattresses and very basic facilities. I would hurry on to Donegal Town Independent Hostal.
