We loved this place, sure its a 10min walk out of town but the hosts were extremely friendly and made the stay very enjoyable as did the dog scooby.

The rooms, bedding bathroom were clean- we had an ensuite but it needed a bathmat as the floor got quite wet. Kitchen is very well equiped for cooking

Donegal town is quaint and has a few good pubs, plus it was great to come back and have a few wines in the kitchen and chat to the owner etc.

the managers were friendly, the facilities were adequate, two of us shared a 4 bed dorm with cool painted walls, a nice big window and squeaky beds. we only stayed one night, but it was close enough to walk into town in the cold, and we had a good time at the session at one of the pubs (they even let me sing a song!)... atmospherically, it wasn't that great, but practically it was fine. there were also people camping on the front lawn, so i assume camping is ok there!

Easy to find location. Friendly hostess and her dog. Good kitchen supplies. Adequate sitting room with cozy fireplace. Clean bathroom facilities (shared). Private room bunkbeds were warm & clean enough but in poor condition. A board was laid between springs and mattress causing bed to be on a slant. Without the board, mattress springs had deep sag worn in one spot that you fall into.

Every time i visit Donegal town i stay with Linda and Andy and the girls.I was there when they brought home their puppy Scooby-Doo who must be about a year old by now.The hostel is very warm & friendly with remodeled toilet facilities and clean well kept rooms. It is quiet and your sleep goes undisturbed. The kitchen is well equiped and large.Linda is always asking if you would like a cup of tea & is very willing to tell you where the best walks or bike riding is.Just dont expect to win at checkers if you play it with Claudette the youngest daughter.I will be going back to Donegal town again this year and will stay again at this great hostel.(I even get christmas cards from these wonderful people).

Very good hostel, friendly staff, clean, large house, kitchen full equipped, pleasant common tv room with fire in chimney. Little 10 minutes walk to reach the hostel from the Donegal down town where the bus stops. Little blemish: bed in my dorm was very narrow and mattress was not very young.

I've stopped here three times, had fine craic at the hostel and in the pubs and gone away with fond memories of the gentle way Linda takes the piss out of male guests.

We wanted to stay there for a night, but stayed for four days and were really sad when we had to leave. The same happened to the other hostelguests.....Linda and her family are fantastic - they make you feel like home. We joined a guided tour to the slieve league (ask the family, they organise it) which was a great experience. The guy who makes the tour drives the people around the whole area with the jeep and tells about historic facts and mystic celtic fairies that almost makes you believe in the little folk. It's not a typical tourist tour - more like driving through the country with some friends. Donegal was our favorite stay in Ireland!!! Say hello to the scooby-dog if you are there......;-)

Everything about this place is great!! The woman who runs it is amazing. Her energy and willingness to make you feel welcome really makes your stay (no matter how long or short!!) a joy!! The rooms are clean and everything about the place is very welcoming. Definately a place to go if you are looking to relax and enjoy your holiday!!

Was will man mehr? Immer findet man im Livingroom Leute zum quatschen oder die Ruhe, einfach nur ein Buch zu lesen. Was immer man will. Wir jedenfalls sind froh, dass es Menschen wie Linda gibt und wir dürfen immer das Gefühl haben, wenn wir nach Irland fahren, in dem Hostel ein "Zuhause" gefunden zu haben.

I didn't have much experience with hostels when I first got here. I was planning to stay a day or two, but stayed a week or so. It became like a second home for me and I came back several times during my stay in Ireland and it still is one of my most favourite places in the world. The family that runs the hostel is so nice and after a few days I almost felt like I was a part of the family. The town is lovely and there are some excellent walking possibilities in the area.
