Arrived here at night and only stayed until the morning. I had a bed near the window where it was difficult if not impossible to get any kind of sleep given the hooligan drunks out at all hours of the night. The bathroom stunk like it hadn't been cleaned in a while, I didn't try the shower as i wanted to be in there just long enough to do my business. The beds were cheap foam matresses with plastic type bedsheets, hardly anywhere near being comfortable. Breakfast was included but consisted only of a loaf of bread and orange juice, I felt like I was in prison! the reception was nice enough but I didn't feel extremely welcome there, glad I only spent one night. Here's a tip - there is a hostel called Globetrotters a block down on the same street, they'll give you a full breakfast and facilities are much nicer.

This place is disorganized! The first night at Abraham's we checked in late night and when we entered our room to sleep we saw every last bed having backpacks, someone sleeping in it, or something marking the bed was taken. Perhaps they overbooked the room? The night guy had to come into the room several times with his flashlight to sort it out when the late night partiers came in to rest.

Immenities were of low quality. There are no lockers in the room only electronic safes in the reception area - they display your code for 10seconds when opening the damn thing (if they even open). The breakfast was the usual crappy free bread hard as a stone fare and the internet was decent for the price. The common room is a joke with a beat to hell snooker table that I never saw anyone playing.

There was one dude working the desk in the morning that smelled like he'd been wrapped in meat and put out in the sun for 4 days then brought back inside. I felt so sorry for the poor girl working with him. If fate was kind, she'd have no olfactory senses. The sheets were dirty but thankfully didn't smell like him.

You can find a better place than this in Dublin!

This place has managed to get all the basics right - friendly and helpful staff, reasonably social atmosphere, clean dorms, functioning showers, and a kitchen. None of this should be anything special but unfortunately this was the only European hostel I've staying in that has managed all of the above. The location is pretty good - just a few minutes walk from O'Connell St and the Liffey. There are very few decent places to eat in the area, though.

Positives: big dorms are relatively cheap, kitchen is social, daytime receptionists are professional, kitchen and cleaning staff are nice.

Negatives: duvet covers not changed between guests, evening receptionists have no concept of customer relations and can become aggressive if you disagree with them, creaky bunk beds, quite noisy in dorms of all sizes, often no water in large upstairs dorms on weekends, fridge is too small, kitchen underequipped.

This was an OK hostel - a bit cramped but clean, helpful staff, good location. I was surprised by the ratings given by others - in my opinion it's a bit overrated. Next time I visit Dublin I would try somewhere else, but this place is certainly not bad.

What is good with that hostel is their tendency to fill up all their rooms by free upgrades from standard to ensuite or from dorms to 6 or 4-person rooms. The reception is on average friendly and happy to explain and the breakfast consists of the usual stuff. The only issue was the inadequate heating in the room but I am sure that they will take care of it. Relatively clean and well located with respect to transport and sightseeing. Without being originally cheap you may end up with a private ensuite room for 30 euro.

Good location, and the best part was the staff. Unbelievably helpful. The room was very clean - although i would recommend bringing a sheet because they only give you one. I would definetly recommedn this hostel and go back!

This hostel is situated in the heart of Dublin and is competitively priced and clean. Located on a road lined with other hostels and budget hotels.

The hostel is easily reachable on foot within 5 minutes from OConnell Street (Which can be distinguished by the gigantic spire in the middle). This is where many buses arrive from the airport, etc.

The hostel is open 24 hours and there is NO curfew, so you can go out and party at Temple bar until the early hours of the morning. Very friendly staff are available throughout at reception, that are always more than willing to help out with directions, etc. A pass is required to be shown to gain entry to the hostel. This has to be renewed each day, but the whole system seems to be quite relaxed.

I stayed in a 12-bed dorm, which was warm and relatively clean, but very bare, other than beds and bags all over the place. The room was one of a small number that had windows facing the road in front of the hostel. This may be a problem to some people, as the road in front can be quite busy/noisy. And it is always nice to open a window or two, to prevent the room from developing an odd smell.

There were no lockers in the rooms, but they were available in the reception area. There was only one key to each room, which was kept in the room, with the last person to leave required to hand it in at reception. A luggage room is also available, accessible by key from reception.

Valuables could also be left at reception. By the reception there is also a lounge area, along with sofas dotted around the hostel.

The shared showers were limited in numbers and difficult to get much warm water from, but were clean. Toilets were a little cramped, but again clean.

Simple breakfast was included in the price, served between 8am and 10am, comprising: A croissant, butter and Jam, orange juice and a choice of tea or coffee.

All in all, although I only stayed for 2 nights (in early October) and I would have preferred lockers in the dorms, I would consider this to be a good place to stay with minor niggles more than made up for by the very pleasant staff.

This is a great place the staff are cool, it is safe, in fact i even went on a night out with a few regulars. The irish are lovely and it is a nice relaxed place to sleep when you come back at 5am after a great night out.

Previous guy, you were probably one of those rude loud Americans in the hosel at same time as me, staff will never be freindly if you are that annoying!!!!!!

After all that I've heard about Abraham House, I was very disappointed with what I got. I stayed in a 4-bed en-suite for 2 nights. The bed linen didn't appear to have been washed with obvious stains in multiple places. The room smelled like a man's body odor. The staff answered my questions almost reluctantly, as if I were bothering them. On the upside, the hostel seems pretty secure with guests having to provide a pass to get in. Also the price was pretty low. However, after my experience, I would not stay there again. There are other hostels in Dublin which are cleaner and have a better location.
