Kinlay House was a very nice, clean hostel. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean. My only complaint with the bathrooms, was that there wasn't much hot water.

The breakfasts were pretty good and free, and there were a couple of kitchens to use, which was also helpful.

The staff was so-so. Usually they were helpful, but once I needed some change for the internet (in their hostel) and they just looked at me and said they had "no change". How is this possible in a hostel? No sorry, or anything. Just a blank look. Nothing too major though.

The best part of this hostel is the location. It is only a couple of blocks from the Temple Bar district, which is where you'll have the most fun in Dublin. All the sights are within walking distance too.

Overall the hostel was very good, and I would stay there again when in Dublin.

I got there really late a night and I had made an online reservation, but for some reason they lost my reservation. Fortunately they still had room in a 12-bed dorm. You don`t get a key, but a code for the keypad infront of your room. As a single female traveller I didn`t like the fact that they had unisex toilets and showers. There is only one shower for "females only" on the top. The staff was friendly and breakfast (included) is also pretty good. The place was clean. The location is great, it`s near the Temple Bar district, but it`s not too noisy. I could see the Christchurch Cathedral from my bed! What a view!

We stayed here 2 different nights. Before and after we went on the 3 day hagas tour of southern ireland. Kinley house is beautiful. We stayed in the large dorm which had about 8 sets of bunk beds in it. But loads of space for everyone. The lights were a little annoying because some people cannot turn them off at all. But no major complaints. the bathrooms were clean and shower was ok. made you feel clean afterwards. Breakfast was a pretty good deal too. The luggage room is kinda pain because it opens every hour on the hour so if you miss it ... you have to wait an hour for stuff. Down the street from Trinity College and bar. Stay here if you want a good night of everything.

I stayed in Kinlay house for one night at the beginning of April this year, as part of a group of about 50 people. I was in a dorm with 5 other guys, all of which I knew. They were clean and comfortable, beds made when we arrived. There was a card for the room which had to be left at reception every time we went out. No ensuite, and the bathroom was a little far from our second floor room. I think it could have done with a little more ventilation and a thorough clean. There were two male and two female showers for the floor, but I'm not sure how many people this encompassed. Didn't have to think about security as I was in the dorm with people I knew and didn't have any valuables with me, but they have time locking safes on the landing on the way up the stairs. Breakfast was served in a large dining room, which has a well equipped kitchen you can use attached. It was very clean, and the staff were cleaning after us as we ate breakfast. This consisted of bread, juice and tea or coffee. There was a luggage room which was opened on the hour or on request. The friendly staff even let us use a room to change in later that evening after we had checked out. Lots of info in reception, along with internet access (though it was broken when I was there). All in all, warm and comfortable, toilets a little dingy but other wise a pleasant stay.

My mate and I stayed here the 21 May after returning from West Cork. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We stayed in the largest room; beds ok, clean, and the toilet just a few paces out the door. Bring a padlock to secure your belongings in the cage under the bed. Breakfast was only to keep one alive; bread and juice. This place is not excellent but ok enough that I would stay again.

This place was clean, the showers were decent, kitchen was nice and there is a tv room. The people at the desk are super nice. It's close to temple bar which was very convenient. Really nice area. I would definitely stay again, especially for this price in Dublin.

We stayed here not knowing anything about Dublin or it's location. We were glad we chose Kinlay. The room's are fine - 12 bunk-beds mixed. I would recommend taking an inner-sheet however and some ear plugs if you're a light sleeper - occassional snorers!. B/fast is toast and juice. Hot showers on the top floor only! Front-desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Great safe location - only 2-3 minutes from shops, restaurants and of course the famous Temple Bar district! Was awesome!

Except for the showeres everything is quite good at this hostel, breakfast, beds, price, staff, location. Although there is nothing particularly exceptional about this place, it is clean.
