ADVANTAGES LOCATION: *it's located at the city-center (you can reach almost every single sightseeing by walking within 15 - 20 minutes) and shopping streets are very close as well
* it's easy to reach from the Airport by taking the AirLink-Bus Nr. 747 (takes you about 30 minutes, costs: EUR 6,-- or EUR 21,-- for a busticket for the whole week)
* international guests: you'll meet people from all over the world - that's a nice experience
* there's a small court where you can sit outside if the weather's niceDISADVANTAGES
-ROOMS *either you hear the noise from the street or you hear the noise from the general living room (if you have bad luck to get the room beneath it).- SECURITY LOCKERS
* you've to be lucky to have one (we had bad luck in our last night and had only one for 2 persons).
* in my opinion there's not enough space in the lockers(it's just a small "security-locker" beneath your bed.)
* in my opinion it's not really secure because you can take out things if you try (we have tried and it worked) - DOORS
* most of the doors are creaking. That's very "funny" if somebody who stays in the same room comes home late (or if you have to leave early in the morning and don't want to wake up other guests)- SHOWERS/TOILETS
* quite smelly showers (I mean the showers downstairs) There was no window to get fresh air
* you had to hit on the button (the water-tap) every 10th second to get water. quite annoying if you want to wash your hair
* no toilet on every floor (yo had to walk to an other floor if you had bad luck)
* it was very hard to close the toilet-doors because the hand gear was broken. The water-tap was broken for the whole week, if you turned it on you were completely wet. - KITCHEN/BREAKFAST
* kitchen closed at 09 o'clock p.m. If you're hungry after that you can't enter the kitchen
* They only had open baskets to store your food (so everyone would have been able to take out food whenever he/she wanted to) and you were asked not to bring food or drinks to your room....
* only cereals (no bread) and a Tee+Coffee that tasted not really good for breakfest- POWER OUTLETS
* only two of them in a room with 6 beds (not quite good if you want to charge your mobile-phone, your camera or just dry your hair and the outlets are allready used)
* no power outlets in the bathroom (so you're not able to use the hairdrier or to charge your tooth-brush) - CHANGING YOUR ROOM
It can happen, that they overbook the room, do not tell you that you have to change your room before and if you come back to the room that you expected to be yours (as you've got the keys for it), your things have been put on the dirty
floor (by the new guests) and there are allready other guests sleeping in your beds... It may happen that things of your belongings are missing after this... It would have been no problem if the staff tells you before and you've time to pack your things (no joke, it happend to me and my friend)

I'm sorry but I can't say it's as lousy as previous reviewers said. I mean, ok, there might be nicer ones but it has good prices and location. And the building itself is rather charismatic than ugly or whatever. The rooms are ok and there's a small garden to hang out. And when I was there the opening hours where around the clock, so...

I stayed here for 2 nights. The beds were nice semi soft rooms were clean and althought breakfast was only coffee/tea and tost and jam. It was nice. One the down side the showers were a bit musty and it is not in the best location in dublin.

Dirty bedrooms with tatty bedding. Bread & Jam for breakfast, silly opening hours, queue for showers. Old building wants knocking down. Don't bother.

I have stayed in a number of different hostels in Dublin and this one is truly the worst of them all. Dirty bed sheets and lousy breakfast, the staff weren't very nice either. Go to Abbey Court instead, that place is great!
