All the facilities from the village are close byIt s just a great hostel...if you go to inis Mor i advice you to go to the Kilronan hostel...you will not regred it!

Very relaxed staf. beautifull location overlooking the harbour specialy before the first boats arive. Small pub nextdoor. Make sure to be on your way (for whatever what) before 12 a.m. That's when the tourist take over the island.

I stay at this hostel allof the time. It is one of the cleanest hostels in Ireland and also one of the friendliest. I stayed here the same time as Shane. It has one the highest reviews on hostelworld at 86%. Listen Shane,they ask for an I.D. card for security reasons ( not a passport ), there is no internet advertised and no internet available at the hostel. If a fridge breaks ,as I was told by the owner there is not a fridge store on the Aran Islands ( population 900 ) you have to wait for one to be shipped over from the mainland. Surprise! Surprise! Shane obviously has not travelled very much as all hostels take cash on arrival, not departure. This place is an island, not a major city, i.e. Vancouver! Shane probably has gone back to live with his mother in Canada. Buy a guide book! Educate yourself!

I usually do not give a bad review to places but having stayed at several good hostels over three weeks in Wales and Ireland unfortunately I have to give Kilronan Hostel a bad review. There are a couple of reasons for this. Several of the services they list on the web-site were not available and they demanded our passports. I was totally appalled. Services: The fridge for guests was broken. It is hard to keep your food in good condition if the fridge is broken. Note that the fridge for staff was working fine. Also the fridge was about 6 cubic feet and would not hold enough food if everyone in the hostel had a couple of things in there. When we asked to use the internet service that was advertised we were told that it was too slow for us to use it. (Then dont advertise it!) The breakfast room was locked in the morning and was opened half an hour late the morning we were to leave. There were about eight guests waiting for breakfast when the attendant finally woke up to our knocking. The morning previous we showed up for breakfast and all the milk was gone. When we asked for more we were told that they put out a couple of liters and when it is gone it is done. So much for everyone getting cereal in the morning. Payment:We were asked for payment on the night before departure. No mention was made of this prior to that time. Unfortunately the only store with a bank machine had closed half an hour earlier and I only had 30 or so Euro on me. When I offered my Visa they said they only accepted cash. (Nice business.) So, they asked repeatedly for my passport. No way they were getting it. I was traveling with five people and the only way off the island is the ferry run by the islanders, what do they think Im going to do, a runner!? If they demand cash then they should mention when and how payment is to be made when checking in. They asked just a few too many times for the passport. In summary, they handled this very stupidly and I in the end suggested something else of value they could hold as collateral which worked out but I would never recommend this hostel. It is all about the money and they did not provide the services advertised.

Great Hostel with no large dorms, all the rooms havea an immaculate bathroom and the views are stunning. Look out for Cleve who runs the place, he is great...
This place was ideal, it is 2 minutes walk from the pier and all the rooms have bathrooms!
