BUG Review
This hostel near the train/bus station has a good atmosphere and the usual facilities such as a small kitchen and a TV lounge with Internet access. The dorms are simple but clean and there are lots of historic photos of Galway on the walls.

There was no one to let us in when we rang the bell, the staff was incredibly rude. There are only certain hours you can shower (I'm not kidding!) And the kitchen is closed during lunch, and after 11, which means there is no common room or internet access at these times. Showers were cold but clean, rooms were clean, but sometimes difficult to lock. Overall, think about going somewhere else, unless you like the 2 minute walk from the bus station.

When I arrived in Galway, I found the Galway City Hostel by the station. I liked it right away. Great location and in a nice old fashoned stone building. The staff were helpful and friendly. Met lots of cool people from all over the world, and the new sound system was pretty rockin'. The rooms were clean and fresh with new beds and big fluffy duvets. Breakfast was free, and I enjoyed chatting with the other guests in the cottage-like kitchen overlooking the main square. I stayed several days, finding it a good base in the center of town and close to the train station. It's one of the best places I've stayed in and I would recommend the Galway City Hostel to anybody.
