The town consists of a pub, a hostel, and about eight houses. The view, however, cannot be beat and you can see the Blasket Islands right from the Hostel. The Blasket Island Centre is across the street, and from Dun Choain you can hike to the Ryan's Daughter schoolhouse and around where they filmed Far and Away (with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman). Anyways, the scenery cannot be beat. We stayed four days there and absolutely loved it, the staff were wonderful and we met lots of interesting people. The only downside is that it's a bit out of the way. We had a car, so no worries, but you need to drive to Ballyferriter to buy groceries. We ended up driving a German couple and an American pair to Dingle town because they got stuck out there during a Bank Holiday weekend and thought it was boring. But weekend music at the pubs is also not too bad. If you can make it to Ballyferriter, there are several incredible beaches in the vicinity, one of which is, I think, almost a mile long.

This hostel is friendly and well-kept, with a helpful hostelier. The rooms are not overcrowded and many interesting people pass through via the Dingle Way in the summer. The only catch is that it may be a bit hard to Dunquin, and if you're walking the Dingle Way, it's a good way through the town. Once there, however, it's in near proximity to everything you'll want to see in the lovely town of Dunquin. The kitchen is neat and adequately equipped. Reserve ahead in spring and summer.
