This hostel was fairly clean. They did offer bedding so that was a plus. It's a great place if you just need somewhere to sleep. They do have a room for storage so that was nice throughout the day. It could have been a bit cleaner but it was livable for a night or two. It was pretty neat too how it was kinda naturie with animal room names.

Inside looking: 4. Strong boy-scout looking, with animals representing the dorms. Nice.

Surroundings: 4. Very near bus/train station. Beside church. Very quite place.

Dorms: 3.5. Nice beds, colourful. But too little and few windows.

Showers: 2.5. Not very comfortable nor hot enough in winter.

Kitchen: 3.5. Not too big, but comfortable.

Common rooms: 2. Only the dining room.

Staff: 3.5. Ok

Facilities: 3. Laundry. Bike hire. Tours around the region. Linen included. Curfew at 3:00 AM

Overall: 3.5. Good choice if you want to stay 2 or 3 nights visiting Killarney. For more days, consider the International Youth Hostel in Agadhoe, much better in everything.

This hostel is NOT opposite the railway station, as such, and it's not so easy to find either. Also, the staff were a bit iffy, we made a reservation over the phone, they took a credit card number, but when we rang later to confirm they said, 'that's just as well, we were about to give it away' as apparently they don't actually TAKE credit cards. So watch out and make sure you arrive by 6. The eating area is nice, and the kitchen is very good, but the wooden floors throughout the hostel mean that any late comers make a huge racket. Dorms smallish and cosy otherwise.
