BUG Review
This small central hostel has the best atmosphere of Killarney's hostels. Although a bit cramped, it has loads of character and includes a small kitchen and a common room with an open fire.

Price
Dorm bed €15-16
Twin room €35

Prices are in local currency and are inclusive of all taxes.

When I got to Sugan I was greeted by a man named Pa, or "The Mug" as he was known at a local pub when he performed his one man show there. He was borderline manic in his greeting and quick run through of the hostel and the locale. He was a really curious chap, but good natured. We went to see his local one man show because he'd invited us at a discount rate and it was splendid. Through the course of the show he drank 4 pints of Guiness and a few shots of Bushmills. By the end we were all just hanging out, he got some other hostel kids to play guitar (which no one there knew how to tune unfortunately) and he sang for a while.

The hostel itself is immaculate. It's very reasonably priced, close to everything in Killarney, and only a minutes walk to a local bike shop where you can rent bikes to ride through the park.
