I have stayed in a ton of hostels and this one outdoes them all. Although Brindisi might be a quiet place without the usual 'tourist type' attractions, my stay here was great. It was actually nice to have a day and a half away from the usual museums, churches, etc. The hostel itself is very clean, organized and lots of fun. I have no complaints whatsoever about Carpe Diem and would have no hesitation recommending this hostel to anyone. The owner, Maurizio, seems to know exactly what makes a hostel work and is obviously the driving force that makes this hostel great. The homemade meals were exceptional and the bar was a bonus. If you are staying in Brindisi or just passing through for the day, do yourself a favor and stay at Carpe Diem. I doubt you will regret it.

like everyone else i did a one day (8hour) stop over while waiting for the ferry to greece. there's nothing to do in brindisi, but the hostel was a howl, the owner "M" was a laugh, one in a million, stand up comic/talk show host type, brought the best out in all the guests, food was good, we laughed so hard we actually contemplated staying an extra day just for the night time fun. would give it 5 starts except for the fact that brindisi sucks but thats not the hostels fault, an oasis in a desert of boredom!!!! when you get there say hi to Mauritzio.

Good safe cheap place to stay. Excellent staff, clean room. Transport to Port & Airport a godsend.

Will certainly visit again on my travels.

Highly recommended

Owners and staff are very friendly. Food was delish. Definetely a home away from home. Recommendable and will visit again, if in the area. Brindisi is charming.

After finally finding the place (the only hostel in town), I was wet, tired and hungry. I was greeted very warmly and made to feel right at home. They cook for you at reasonable prices and are very accomodating when you need a ride to the ferry to Greece (the reason most people are there). They even went with me to help me buy my tickets. The staff and other travellers hung out together and I even got taken on a great motorcycle ride by the guy who runs it. Greta place!
